Match Report: Swansea 2 - 0 Stoke City

The Swans' match against Stoke was always going to be billed as little vs. large with the height differences between the two starting elevens over 2 foot 5 inches in favour of Stoke. Many thought that the towering presences of Crouch, Shawcross, Huth et al. would prove to be a major problem for a team like us who lack a big, physical presence but the critics were proved wrong.

The illusiveness and vision of Joe Allen, the pace of Dyer and Sinclair and the Mensa sized intelligence of the team as a whole were simply too much for a Stoke team who were coming off the back of a draw against the reigning champions, Manchester United.

Match Report: Arsenal 1 - 0 Swansea

From the outside, Arsenal's one-nil victory against the Swans would be seen as a good performance from a newly promoted side against a top four team, however from the inside it was an opportunity for lost for the Swans.

Previous to kick off news broke out about the unfortunate passing of Brendan Rodgers' father Malachy. Understandably Brendan made the trip back home to be with his family, which prompted the ever dependable duo Curtis and Pascoe to take the reigns at the Emirates.

Match Preview: Can Swansea Resist The Arsenal Backlash?

Both ourselves and Arsenal have been lauded for our styles of play with each team gaining a higher echelon of respect by being compared to Barcelona's style of Tiki Taka style of play and Saturday will see the teams face each other for the first time in over 18 years.

The timing of the fixture could either lead us to be rabbits in the headlights or it could be a blessing in disguise. On one hand Arsenal will be wanting to prove the critics wrong after their humiliating 8-2 defeat to Manchester United and that backlash could be at our expense, but for every cloud there is a silver lining.
